An old lesson I have to learn the hard way over and over again

I haven’t been exactly a bastion of consistency with my gym habits the past year or so. Some months, I’d hit the gym 3-4 times a week like clockwork. Other months, I might only go to the gym 4-5 times total!
Going to the gym is like anything else that takes work and effort to achieve: Consistency stacks the odds in your favor.
When I’m consistent with going to the gym, I don’t have to track my food at all. I just need to make sure I get enough protein, and the rest takes care of itself. I slim down. My muscles grow. And my thinking becomes clearer.
But being inconsistent throws my entire routine out of whack. My thinking gets cluttered. Fat sticks to my loins in the worst way. And it’s harder to get back into the gym.
Well, I’ve been far more consistent with the gym over the past month or so as the weather changed.
Why?
I re-learned an old lesson I’ve had to learn and learn again several times over.
The lesson?
Consistency begets consistency.
The program I’m following right now is six days per week. I don’t have a choice but to be consistent. And so, it makes me consistent.
I still don’t feel like going to the gym. But I force myself because missing a day throws off my entire week. And I feel better afterwards, which keeps me coming back the next day.
The same way it’s easier to go to the gym 6 times a week than it is to only go 3 times a week also happens with email:
Emails beget emails.
The more emails you write, the easier they become to write, and the sooner you can blow the lid off your revenue.
Of course, there are certain mindsets that will keep you stuck:
* Won’t just everybody unsubscribe?
Yes, the worst leads will unsubscribe. But the high-quality ones who will be serious customers or clients will stick around and even look forward to your emails.
* What will I write about?
Literally anything. It gets easier with each rep. This is, checks notes, my 778 daily-ish email I’ve sent over the past few years. If I can do it, you can do it too.
* But I’m not making any sales!
That’s okay too. Not every email has to blow the lid off. Even emails that result in zero sales, while this might sting your ego, they still build the KLT factor I oft talk about as being a prerequisite for making sales in the Entertainment Age.
Almost nothing good comes from inconsistency.
Likewise: Almost everything good comes from consistency.
