I wanted to become a copywriter, not a firefighter!

- So I mumbled to myself earlier today as I donned a firefighter hat, and, uh, spent the rest of the day putting out various fires.

I’m writing this email much later than I normally do because, well, I’ve been putting out fires all damn day.

For example:

* An email software one client uses decided to switch their text and email editor in the middle of the night, and it’s causing lots n lots of dumb formatting issues that weren’t an issue when I had access to their classic editor a couple of days ago

* I’m still waiting on the developer team to process my requests that I sent in literally two months ago (but, hey, I finally had a meeting with one of them today and they actually shared the Google Doc I created at the end of 2024 to make this a non-issue—alas, I put too much trust in developers)

Hmph.

I guess that’s all the fires.

But even two fires is two fires too many.

Since I’m running low on time, I figured I’d share the single most valuable tip with you:

Business owners often create fires to justify their existence instead of evolving to the next level where more freedom, wealth, and ease exists.

The more you build your awareness about the fires you start (you often don’t realize it because I think they’re unconscious manifestations but I’m no psychologist nor do I play one on TV), the more you can prevent them.

Usually, these are limiting beliefs you have about yourself that extend to your business and cause you to panic and create a lot of problems out of thin air so you can solve them and get a dopamine release that says you accomplished something.

But it only keeps you stuck.

Irritates your team.

And, who knows, you might accidentally create enough stress to crush your marriage, your family, or even your general enjoyment of life itself.

Best to start cultivating this awareness now.

Anywho:

I can also keep you in check to the best of my abilities—while managing your entire email marketing strategy to spit out more revenue and more loyal customers every month.

Hit reply and let’s see if we’re a good fit?

John
